🗞️✨ Reflecting on the History of Journalism & Acts of Compassion | Wednesday, 13th March
Our session on “The History of Journalism in Mauritius” was nothing short of enlightening. Held on Wednesday, 13th March, this evening served as a powerful reminder of how essential it is to understand our past in order to better navigate the present and shape the future.
📰 Guided by the wisdom of our distinguished guest speaker, Mr. Soubhash Gobine, the session explored the evolution of journalism in Mauritius. Mr. Gobine’s deep knowledge and first-hand experiences offered a unique lens into the world of journalism—its challenges, its triumphs, and most importantly, its ethical responsibilities.
🔍 Ethics in journalism emerged as a central theme, reminding us of the pillars that uphold a free and fair press: integrity, accuracy, responsibility, and the tireless pursuit of truth. Through open discussion and reflection, members reaffirmed their appreciation for the values that shape not just journalism, but informed, ethical societies.

In a beautiful demonstration of service beyond words, we also witnessed a touching moment of generosity during the session. Rtn Pramesh and spouse Reshma made a life-changing contribution by sponsoring the studies of two vulnerable children for an entire year through the “Sponsor a Child Association”.
Their selfless act doesn’t just fund education—it sows seeds of hope, giving these children the opportunity to dream, grow, and shape a better future.
