A New Chapter Begins: Rotary Club of Montebello Welcomes President Moshinee Heeramun
Belle Mare, Mauritius – July 5, 2025 – The Rotary Club of Montebello marked a defining moment in its history with the induction of its new president, Moshinee Heeramun, during a splendid ceremony held at the Ambre Hotel. The event symbolized a seamless transition of leadership and a renewed commitment to the club’s enduring motto, “Service Above Self.”
The evening commenced with a sense of patriotism and global fellowship as guests stood for the National Anthem of Mauritius, followed by the Rotary International Anthem. Past President Hemant Ramdewor, serving as Chairperson of the Induction Committee, warmly welcomed all attendees and set the stage for a memorable night.
A graceful prayer and a toast to the Republic of Mauritius followed, after which the club honoured remarkable contributions to The Rotary Foundation by recognizing and pinning new Paul Harris Fellows — a tribute to their generosity and service.
Outgoing President Uttam Dinaran then delivered his valedictory address, reflecting on the club’s accomplishments over the past year and expressing deep appreciation for the dedication and support of the board and club members.
The highlight of the evening was the official Induction Ceremony. In a moment rich with Rotary tradition, President Uttam passed the presidential collar to Moshinee Heeramun, officially entrusting her with the leadership of the club for the 2025–2026 Rotary year. The ceremony also included the pinning of Clement Li as President-Elect, ensuring leadership continuity into the future.
In her inaugural address, President Moshinee shared her vision and inspired club members with her plans for the year ahead. She emphasized unity, service, and sustainable impact in the community.
The ceremony was further uplifted by heartfelt messages from esteemed Rotary leaders. Assistant District Governor Terry Wong conveyed a powerful message on behalf of District Governor Bernard Leung Son, while Past District Governor Dinesh Gajeelee, the evening’s Chief Guest, offered encouragement and insightful reflections.
Adding to the evening’s camaraderie were traditional toasts to the ladies and gentlemen. A vote of thanks was extended to all contributors, followed by a final, resounding toast to Rotary International.
The formal program concluded with a group photo to commemorate the occasion. Guests then enjoyed a delightful buffet dinner, mingling and celebrating the dawn of a promising new Rotary year.
