🌿🌊 Exploring & Protecting Nature – Part 2 of our Joint Interact Experience!

🤝 A collaboration between Interact Club of Montebello & Interact Club of Le Bocage

The SOS Mangrove project continued with great energy and enthusiasm as our Interactors came together once again for Part 2 of their environmental adventure—this time focusing on active conservation and deeper ecological learning.

🧤 The day began with a well-organized cleanup session around the mangrove area at Pointe d’Esny. Divided into teams, the youngsters diligently collected and sorted waste into three key categories: paper, plastic, and metals. This thoughtful activity not only helped restore the natural beauty of the coastline but also instilled awareness about waste segregation and its role in protecting marine ecosystems.

🌳 Following the cleanup, the group moved to La Case du Pêcheur, where they encountered a truly majestic sight—towering mangrove trees over 35 metres tall! 🌱 This provided a striking contrast to what they had observed during their first visit at Le Morne, allowing them to:
🔍 Compare mangrove species and structures
🌊 Observe how soil, water conditions, and environmental factors affect growth
📲 Document their findings using the SOS Mangrove app, uploading a brand-new set of photos and field data

The visit sparked rich conversations as both Interact Clubs reflected on their experiences from the two different sites, gaining valuable insight into biodiversity, conservation, and human impact on coastal environments.

🤝 This wasn’t just an educational field trip—it was a meaningful experience of youth empowerment, environmental stewardship, and cross-club fellowship.

🎒🌱 A big salute to our dedicated Interactors who chose to spend their school holidays making a real impact on the environment—learning, serving, and growing as responsible citizens of tomorrow 🌍
